Mr E Burton AS WE age, the word nostalgia, which we used to smile about, takes on a whole new meaning, it is, to a certain extent an evocation of times past, of the “good times” Two Christmas presents I received this year were both nostalgic, the first was a Michael Holiday CD. ( He was 'our' Bing Crosby of the fifties and sixties), the accompaniment was in keeping with the songs he sang, every word could be understood, his diction was excellent.
My second nostalgic CD was of the musical Salad Days written by Julian Slade.
It was a bright and frothy show full of joy and hope by a very young cast. I had seen the show at least three times during the fifties.
To me it brought back such happy memories of the whole era. I will not smile knowingly, or even laugh at nostalgia again, promise.
