I WRITE in response to Melvyn Gardner’s letter, (Newsletter, March 4) regarding Eagle House.
Eagle House is a housing and support scheme providing temporary accommodation for people from the Staffordshire area. It will not be housing individuals from other parts of the UK or EU.
Mr Gardner’s letter refers to Midland Heart’s outreach services in the centre of Birmingham, a completely different service to that at Eagle House.
I would also like to emphasise that all individuals being offered a place at Eagle House will undergo a rigorous assessment to ensure they meet the right personal criteria for people seeking to turn their lives around. The management arrangements for the service will be overseen by a group made up of members of the public, political representatives and the police.
