Councillor Margaret Goodall NOTED with interest the article and photographs in last week’s Stone Newsletter of the new electricity cabinets that have been fitted in Stone High Street.
I have several comments to make regarding them.
Firstly, their fitting is not yet complete. To complain about them at this point is the same as looking at a half complete aeroplane and saying: “that will not fly”.
Secondly, their size is dictated by Health and Safety requirements of the Electricity Companies Operators. They require this size of box to be able to work safely. This requirement is paramount as the present arrangements for the supply of electricity in the High Street is unsafe.
Thirdly, regarding their size. They are approximately the same size as the rubbish bins already in the High Street.
Should these be removed as well? Finally, I look forward to Messers.
Lucas and Stevens publishing photographs of the supply cabinets when they are finally complete.
