Phone debt call fears

AT 10.30am on Thursday, March 4, 2010, I received a phone call from a man who informed me that his name was Gavin, the area debt officer, and a survey had revealed that I had debts of £1,000. I lost my temper and shouted: “I have no debts whatsoever,” and slammed the phone down.

Stupid me! I should have held my tongue and engaged him in conversation to ascertain more about Gavin and how he intended to alleviate the burden of my £1,000 debt.

Has anyone else been approached by Gavin the area debt officer and if so what do we know about him and his debt alleviating service?
