Help find Pepe the Parrot

Written byRobin Scott

AN ELDERLY woman is pleading with the people of Stafford to help her find her best friend – an African Gray parrot called Pepe.

AFRICAN GREY ... Mrs Burton was unable to supply a picture of Pepe, but African Greys look very similar and this stock picture will give readers an idea of what to look out for

Eunice Burton told the Newsletter 10-year-old Pepe had escaped from his cage and flown away while she was moving some of her things from a building on Alliance Street off Eccleshall Road.

Mrs Burton, 74, said Pepe was likely to be quite frightened but that if people saw him they might try saying the phrase ‘Georgia school’, something that would seem familiar to him.

She said he was a fan of sunflower seeds and peanuts too and people might be able to lure him over with them if they saw him.

Anyone who has any information on Pepe’s whereabouts can call the Newsletter office on 01785 270 515 and we will relay it to Mrs Burton.
