A MAN was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after the car he was driving crashed and flipped upside down on the A50 at Checkley Bank
The accident happened on the westbound carriageway of the road at approximately 8.15am on Thursday.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "It is believed the male driver of a silver Mazda vehicle lost control of the car, which ended up on its roof in the layby."
Police closed the road, diverting traffic on the A522 towards Cheadle before reopening it at 10.20am, while the man was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
Police are urging any witnesses to call 101 quoting incident number 119 of June 7.
