Mum Denny singled out

A SINGLE mum dedicated to helping others in her community has made the regional shortlist for a national award.

Denny Corbett, 54, chairman of Rising Brook South Tenants’ and Residents’ Association, works tirelessly to make the area a better to place.

The mum-of-three has served on the executive committee of Stafford and Rural Homes Tenants’ and Residents’ Association, sits on the Rising Brook Baptist Church quarterly forum and is a Stafford and Rural Homes customer inspector.

She also runs a youth forum and sits on various customer focus groups and joint consultation groups within Stafford and Rural Homes and combines all this work with serving as a school governor.

She has now been recognised for her efforts, making the shortlist for the Participation Advisory Service Tenant of the Year award after being nominated by Stafford and Rural Homes She said: “I’m absolutely amazed to be shortlisted.”

The award-winner will be announced at a ceremony in Solihull on March 18. If she wins Mrs Corbett will go through to the national final in August.
