A NEW £2.3 million road linking 374 new homes to Stafford town centre has opened.

The road, off Queensway, leads to the St George’s Park development of properties currently being created at the old hospital site by developer Bovis Homes.
Bovis funded the work and the county council began the project in May last year to reconstruct Queensway, install a new bridge over Pearl Brook and new traffic lights.
Queensway has been widened to create additional lanes so motorists can turn into the new development and Kingsmead car park from both directions. There are also new pedestrian and cyclist links to and from the town centre.
