AN ELDERLY man was attacked from behind, knocked to the ground and robbed in Stone on Thursday night.
The 68-year-old was walking along a path by the Shell Garage on Walton Way just before 10.30pm when a young man approached him from behind, hitting him on the head causing him to fall.
The offender, described as white, late teens to early 20s, stocky build and wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a matching zip up tracksuit top with the hood up, then threatened the pensioner, who handed over a small quantity of cash, before walking off towards Walton Way.
The victim sustained minor facial injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
Police are asking anyone with information to call DS Dave Rowlands on 101 quoting incident number 703 of October 18 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
