TWO elderly men have been hospitalised after a van they were travelling in collided with a lamp post near Seighford.

Emergency services were called to the incident close to Broad Heath Farm at 2.55pm after reports of a single car collision.
A police spokesman said: “A white Ford transit had been in a collision with a lamp post.
“The driver, a 66-year-old man, is believed to be unharmed,” she said. “His passenger, a 60-year-old man suffered head injuries.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Initially only one of the two occupants appeared to be injured and on a secondary examination that injury, a head injury, turned out to be quite serious and he was taken by ambulance to the trauma unit at University Hospitals of North Staffordshire.”
He said, following that, the driver, who at first seemed not to want hospital treatment was taken to Stafford Hospital for further treatment, adding that his injuries were less serious.
