Pothole sparks rush hour delays near Stafford

COMMUTERS faced delays getting into Stafford this morning because of a pothole on the M6.

Emergency work was needed on the pothole on the southbound carriageway, between junctions 13 at south Stafford and 12 at Gailey, but tailbacks began before junction 14, north of Stafford, causing delays for motorists before 9am.

But shortly after 9am it was reported that congestion had cleared.

Those travelling from junction 14 to Stafford town centre also hit tailbacks along Eccleshall Road and Foregate Street, where emergency work to repair a  collapsed sewer is currently taking place.
