Public urged to help draw crowds to Walton craft show

ARTY and crafty Stafford folk are being urged to show off their work and help make two events major successes.

Walton Village Hall in Milford Road is staging a craft and produce show on September 15 and wants people to show off their craft, baking photography and gardening skills at the event, from 2pm.

It will be a major coup if organisers can make it a success as they were forced to axe the previous annual fruit and veg show 10 years ago due to lack of support.

The village hall will also host an open art exhibition for the first time on October 27 and 28. Works will be accepted in a range of styles, including acrylic, ceramics, glass, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pottery, oil, sculpture, water colour and wood carving.

Entry to the exhibition will be free and it is hoped many items will be on sale.

Walton Village Hall Management Committee is organising both events and members are currently trying to raise cash towards a new village hall.

Beryl Holt, from the committee, said: “This is a new venture for the hall and we hope to attract many local artists, both amateur and professional.”

Entry to the exhibition is free and it will be open 2-5pm on October 27 and from 11am to 5pm the following day. There will also be a table top sale on November 18 10am-noon.
