Stone first responders seek volunteers for Wild Thing obstacle course

STONE First Responders are appealing for people to take part in one of the toughest obstacle courses in the country.

The Wild Thing adventure race takes place on September 8 at Wild Park in Brailsford on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park. The course includes the swamp of doom, water slides, tightropes, tunnels, giant walls, cargo nets, mud, water and a killer assault course.

Rachel Pine, of 3B Barbers, one of the teams already signed up for the challenge, said: “A few of us decided to do the challenge to raise awareness for the First Responders, then a few customers wanted to join us and it has just grown from there.

"It is open to everybody so join in the muddy fun and raise some money for the First Responders - you never know when you might need them.”

Anyone can register online up until March 31 and are urged to register as part of the Stone first responders who will get 10 percent of the £40 entry fee. Everyone who registers with the team will be grouped together and urged to raise sponsor money.

Members from 3B Barbers,The Bike Shack and Stone County Butchers have already signed up for the challenge.
