YOUNGSTERS at St John’s School were so inspired by author Dan Freedman they couldn’t wait to put pen to paper.
Mr Freedman’s series of books, which include Golden Goal, Kick Off and Shoot To Win, follow aspiring footballer Jamie Johnson in his quest to be a top player.
Mr Freedman gave workshops to the pupils, giving them tips about how to spice up their writing.
Curriculum leader Georgina Stevens said: “It was brilliant, the kids absolutely loved it. Some of the girls were so excited they couldn’t wait until they had their workshop. Some of the kids came back to class saying they couldn’t wait to put pen to paper. They did some amazing stuff - they were so inspired by him.”
