THREE Stafford car parks have been given the seal of approval for offering a safe place for motorists.

The Park Mark Safer Parking Award has just been granted to Stafford Borough Council’s car parks at Doxey Road, Stafford Leisure Centre and Broad Street.
Seven of the council’s other car parks are already part of the Park Mark scheme, which recognises parking facilities that have passed an assessment by the Police and the British Parking Association.
The council has put in place measures to help deter criminals and antisocial behaviour and so prevent crime or fear of crime.
Councillor Frances Beatty, cabinet member for planning and regeneration, said: “We are really pleased that our car parks have been given this award. As well as other initiatives, such as cashless parking and free parking at weekends in the last couple of weeks before Christmas, we also want to ensure our car parks are well maintained and safe - and the Park Mark is recognition of the work we do to achieve this.”
