ECO-FRIENDLY groups across Stafford are being invited to show off their green credentials by entering into a yearly competition.
The 16th annual green awards are run by Stafford Borough Council and recognise schools, businesses and any local group that can demonstrate good environmental practice.
Councillor Frank Finlay, cabinet member for environment and health, said the awards rewarded forward-thinking businesses
“Many of the projects are not just about being environmentally friendly they also save money, something that every smart business or organisation will want to be involved in,” he said.
Entries are judged on energy efficiency, recycling and community awareness, with winners receiving their awards from Stafford Mayor, Stan Highfield, at a ceremony later in the year.
Open to any group within the borough, the competition plays a vital role in the council’s environmental agenda.
