Bulgarian care worker Bonka Kostova was struck off by the Nursing and Midwifery council last week after a string of charges against her were found and proved including an incident where she pulled an elderly dementia sufferer from a toilet half clothed before yelling ‘I hate you’ and branded him ‘an animal’ .
Today the Newsletter has learnt she has been suspended on full pay from the role she took up at St Joseph’s Nursing Home in Stafford, a residential home which charges patients up to £676 a week and is owned by the Congregation of the Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny.
A spokesman for the Order told the Newsletter: “Current staff member Bonka Kostova has been suspended on full pay while we consider and analyse the outcome of the NMC investigation.
“This matter is being given our immediate and utmost attention.
