A stafford super-slimmer who began losing weight when her local takeaway sent her a Christmas card is set to be featured in a national advertising campaign.
Cath Brown dropped from a size 20 to a 10 in seven months after the embarrassing note from a Stafford eaterie. Also spurred on by her long-term boyfriend leaving her for a slimmer model she managed to transform her figure in time for her impending 30th birthday.
Now, she has been chosen for a national ad campaign by glossy magazine OK! “I just celebrated my 30th birthday with a huge party and I can’t tell you how great it was to be the centre of attention in my size 10/12 clothes and not feeling paranoid or embarrassed,” Cath said.
“My journey has been emotional but very liberating.’ Cath was put forward for the glamorous photoshoot by her diet consultant, Liz Reynolds from Cambridge Weight Plan, after she was crowned runnerup in their slimmer of the year competition.
Liz said: “I was so proud of Cath’s success that I nominated her. She got through to the semi finals and was then asked to take part in a photo shoot, and as a result Cath was selected by the OK! magazine for a Cambridge Weight Plan national advertisement.” Catherine’s secret love of singing has now also been realised as she has performed in public for the first time.
She added: “From the start the one-to-one support Liz gave - with a sense of humour and no shock when she saw my weight gave me the confidence to start the plan and carry it through.”
