BURGLARS smashed the window of a Stone café on the weekend before Christmas before breaking in and stealing a quantity of cash.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said they were contacted at around 11am on Sunday, December 23, by staff from the Arcadia Café in High Street to report the break-in.
“Offenders broke into the building, in Somerfield Arcade, by smashing a window and stole a quantity of cash,” he said.
Police also responded to a call at around 9am on Monday, December 24 following a break-in at the Yorkshire Building Society agency branch in High Street.
A spokesman said: “Burglars smashed a window to get inside and stole a charity box.
“Nothing else was taken.”
Anyone who saw anything suspicious over that weekend or who has any information about either crime is urged to call 101 quoting incident number 328 of 23 December for the Acardia burglary or 166 of 24 December for the Yorkshire Building Society crime or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
