Snow flurries follow Stafford commuters home

Written byBy Kerry Ashdown

AS COMMUTERS continue to face snow flurries across Stafford gritters are gearing up to tackle Staffordshire roads tonight.

This morning rush hour motorists had to contend with snow showers and those preparing to leave work now have more of the same on their journey home, with some snow attempting to settle in Stafford.

Outside temperatures are currently below zero and set to drop to -3 degrees Celsius overnight, with more light snow showers forecast.

Staffordshire County Council told residents on Twitter: “The cold snap continues tonight. Gritting will be taking place county wide tonight due to icy conditions.”

But commuters are less likely to experience a white Tuesday weather-wise, with sunny and cloudy conditions forecast tomorrow. The temperature is expected to rise above freezing by 10am, to 3 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.
