Residents of Oxleathers Court and Shakespeare Road in Stafford, and Impstones in Gnosall are coming together to celebrate Comic Relief and raise money for disadvantaged communities both in the UK and abroad.

Oxleathers Independent living co-ordinator Paul Buckley, who has agreed to have his legs waxed for charity on the day, said: “It seemed like a great opportunity to bring together residents from different schemes for a social event and raise cash for a good cause at the same time.

“I’ve asked colleagues at SARH to sponsor me to have my legs which will be done in full public view,” he said. “I’m sure that will be enough to raise a few smiles.”

Also on the day there will be a guess the weight of the red nose cake competition, a fish and chip lunch, raffle and all the residents will be wearing something red – including their red button alert pendants.
