STAFFORD and Stone businesses are being offered the chance to say it with flowers in the borough’s awardwinning parks.

Stafford Borough Council is searching for a company logo or design to be created in flowers at Victoria Park and Stonefield Park and is giving local organisations until Friday, November 30 to say why their logo should take centre stage in the parks next summer.

Councillor Mike Smith, cabinet member for leisure, said: “There must be plenty of businesses and organisations in our community who would love to see their work celebrated in this unique way.”

Earlier this year the carpet bed in the council-run Stonefield park was planted to mark 22 years of Stone in Bloom, while the bed in Stafford’s Victoria Park celebrated the London 2012 Olympic Games and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Victoria Park was also awarded its sixth Green Flag, a benchmark national standard for parks and green spaces, and Stonefield has previously been singled out for a horticultural excellence award as part of the In Bloom competition.

Nominations must say why local organisations should take pride of place in the parks and can be emailed to customer liaison officer, David Roberts, dcroberts@staffordbc.gov.uk.
