A YOUNG Stafford hairdresser is cutting it alongside the best in the industry after winning through to the finals of a prestigious national competition.
Matthew Roskell, 24, creative director at Francesco Group’s Weeping Cross salon, has been selected for the finals in the Midlands category of the British Hairdresser of the Year, 2012.
Mr Roskell was head-hunted by company founder Francesco Dellicompagni, during his time on a three-year Hair and Beauty course at Stafford College supported by the Francesco Group.
“Frank approached me at the college and said to me ‘If you want to be British Hairdresser of the Year some day, we can get you there,” said Mr Roskell. “I guess he was a bit clairvoyant.”
Mr Roskell has submitted a second portfolio of photographs which will be judged over October with the results set to be announced at a live final in London on November 26.
