Stafford man killed in lorry crash

A STAFFORD pedestrian was killed after colliding with a lorry just off the M6 motorway.

 David Andrew Jones, 21, died following the accident on the south bound slip road of the M6 on Thursday night.

 He is thought to have been walking in the area when he was hit by an articulated lorry at around 9.45pm.

 Paramedics were called but Mr Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

 Staffordshire Police collision investigators closed the slip road as they investigated the crash.

 A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch with us.”

 A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman added: “Unfortunately nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
