BURGLARS targeted a Stafford pensioner, one posing as a fencing repairman to distract him while they stole cash from his home.
The 76-year-old from Exeter Street was at his allotment on Herbert Road on Thursday, May 17 at around 2pm when he was approached by a man, asking about fencing repairs, described as white, approximately 40 years of age, 5ft 5in tall, stocky build, wearing a brown coloured rag woollen hat and a grey coloured pullover and speaking with a Scottish accent
Between 3pm and 3.30pm the elderly gentlemen, having returned home, answered his door to the same man, again enquiring about fencing, who entered the victim’s home and walked through to the back garden shortly followed by a second man.
It was later discovered that a quantity of cash was missing from one of the bedrooms.
The second man is as white, about 30, approximately 6ft, average build with short black hair.
