A STAFFORD schoolgirl’s Jubilee themed poster will urge the public to keep the borough clean during the summer festivities.
11-year-old Molly Shermer produced the colourful poster for the Walton Best Kept Village Competition, but now it’s been picked to grace some of the borough’s bin wagons and StreetScene vehicles.
Molly, a pupil at Berkswich Primary School. Also wrote the poster’s slogan “Keep Stafford Clean 4 Our Diamond Queen”.
She said: “I always enter the competition and I love making up catchphrases.
“I really think it’s important to pick up litter because I want Stafford to stay nice and tidy and be a beautiful place to live.”
Councillor Frank Finlay, Stafford Borough Council’s cabinet member for the environment congratulated Molly on her work, adding: “I think she has done a fantastic job, and the message sums of how we want to celebrate the Jubilee really well – let’s keep Stafford Borough beautiful.”
