TWO STAFFORD women have been hit with £75 fines after falling foul of the law for not clearing up after their dogs.

The first incident happened at the town’s Tilcon Avenue industrial estate when a 44-year-old worker was given a fixed penalty notice after an officer from Stafford Borough Council saw her Jack Russell defecating on the nearby grass verge.
The woman told the council enforcement officer she normally cleaned up after her pet.
The same day, a 58-year-old woman was given a fine when she failed to clean up the mess left by her spaniel on the town’s Meadow Road playing fields.
She had driven to the park and went walking with her spaniel but told the officer she did not have any bags with her to clean up the mess.
It brings the total number of people handed fines for dog fouling to eight following a zero tolerance campaign by the council this year.
