Stafford workers enjoy Paralympic experience

A GROUP of Stafford shop-workers won a chance to soak up the Olympic atmosphere and cheer on Team GB at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Les Bryant, Sarah Jackson, Rebecca Thorpe, Rob Manning and Audrey Maddock, from Stafford’s Sainsbury’s – joined other colleagues from the supermarket giant,

Audrey Maddock, who has worked for Sainsbury’s for 27 years, said: ‘It is a chance in a lifetime experience to be able to join in the excitement.”

Store Manager Paul Davies said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for colleagues who really deserve it.

“Across Stafford, many of our colleagues have helped to raise the profile of the Paralympic Games,” he said. “Our colleagues have been a fantastic support in driving the Paralympic message in the community.”

The group had the opportunity to take in wheelchair basketball, blind football, goalball and wheelchair tennis matches.

the first ever Paralympic-only sponsor – at the Olympic Park on Monday after winning the seats for the once in a lifetime trip.
