STONE’S MP has called on his constituents to be proactive in offering their proposals around the future of healthcare services in the town.

Responding to news that independent healthcare regulator Monitor had decided to step in to resolve the cash crisis at Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, Bill Cash said it was important that emergency and acute services at the trust were properly reviewed.
“The hospital will need to continue the process of more cooperation with neighbouring hospitals and closer integration with community health services,” said Mr Cash.
He said he was glad, trust chief executive Lyn Hill-Tout, had responded positively to the proposal for Monitor to permit experts to review the services provided by the organisation, which is responsible for running both Stafford and Cannock hospitals.
Mr Cash added: “If my constituents have views on the future of Stafford and Cannock hospitals which serve them then I will take up their proposals or ideas with both Monitor and the Trust and I look forward to hearing from them.”
