A WOMAN was hospitalised and treated for shock after her car came off the road at an accident black spot in Stone on Christmas Day.

Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue were called to the incident at Waterworks Bend on Longton Road at 10.27am.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “Crews found one vehicle which had left the road and ended up down in the embankment.
“The female driver received oxygen treatment from the fire service for shock before being taken to hospital by ambulance as a precautionary measure.”
The notorious stretch of road has seen a number of crashes in the past 12 months including one where a driver collided with a fence in March and needed treatment for facial injuries after a wooden pole punctured his windscreen, and two crashes in the space of 24 hours in February.
