A TITTENSOR pub is to be demolished after planners approved proposals to build 13 homes on the site.

The Winghouse pub has been closed since January after being sold by owners Punch Taverns.
Outline plans submitted by the London and Edinburgh Pension Scheme LLP were referred back to them last month to look at concerns about height, design and access.
The proposals were subsequently amended so all the houses were two storey - some had previously been three - but the access was left unaltered after county highways chiefs said they were satisfied with the plans.
Feeling among residents was mixed, with 13 objecting and four supporting the plans.
On behalf of the applicants John Heath said: “We listened very carefully to the concerns by the council and took on board those concerns.
"All the houses are now two storey.”
Members voted unanimously to approve the proposals.
