A FIRE which spread from a van to a car near Rugeley is under investigation.

Rugeley firefighters were called to Tuppenhurst Lane in Handsacre shortly before 4am on Saturday to tackle a fire involving a white Ford Transit van and silver Mitsubishi Carisma.

Firefighters and police left the scene just before 5am.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said no-one was injured in the incident but an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.
