University hosts festival tribute to ex-student

Written bySarah Marshall

A MUSIC-LOVING Gnosall man who lost his brain tumour battle at just 26 will be honoured with a fund-raising festival next month.

Chris Ward, who was involved with a number of local bands, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain tumour, glioblastoma multiforme, in 2011.

He died shortly before his 27th birthday.

On February 2, there will be a one-day music festival at Staffordshire University where Chris did a photography degree and met his Inertia bandmates.

The Bigman Festival will raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity.

Chris’ sister, Kate Ward, said: “The bands playing and the organisers of The Bigman Festival are friends and family of Chris, all brought closer together by this wonderful person who had a great passion for music.”
