CAMPAIGNERS hoping to turn a Stafford landmark into a heritage centre and museum are urging the people of the town to come along and see why the 200-year-old building is so special.
Friends of Broad Eye Windmill hoping to the building to prominence will open the doors of the mill on Sunday to the people of the town.
A spokesman for the group said: “The mill has stood in the town for 200 years.
“We hope it will become a museum for local heritage and open on a much more regular basis in the future.”
The open day will feature a guided tour of the mill and a chance to see the Stafford Radio studios which are based in the building as well as a host of stalls selling watches, clocks, kitchenware, a tombola with a variety of prizes and refreshments including tea, coffee and cake.
Entry is free but any donations will be put towards the mill’s ongoing restoration fund.
