A WOMAN was left in a critical condition after a hit and run on the A51 in Rugeley this morning.
The collision happened just before 7.25am on the A51 Western Springs Road at the junction with Hagley Road when the female pedestrian was hit by a dark-coloured car which failed to stop at the scene.
Police have since seized a vehicle and arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the incident who has been taken into custody for questioning.
A police spokesman appealed for witnesses to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident 70 of December 3.
The woman, who was taken to University Hospitals of North Staffordshire, remains in a critical condition.
