A POPULAR business network will be swapping breakfast for lunch when it launches a new ladies-only group next week.
The lunch club which will meet fortnightly at the Mill Restaurant in Stone, is the second ladies group in the Business for Breakfast (BforB) network which currently has more than 130 members across the county.
The group’s leader Sarah White, owner of Stone-based telecommunications specialist M-Viron, said: “It’s something I am very passionate about.
“It tends to be women who are unavailable to attend the breakfast meetings these networking groups are usually based around,” she said. “We hope by changing to lunch time we’ve made the meetings more accessible.”
Mrs White, who has been instrumental in the success of BforB’s other women- only group, which launched in Stoke last year, said she had approached regional director Stuart Walton about the need for the spin-off.
She said Stone was the perfect choice to launch the group which is sector exclusive. A lot of women wishing to join the Stoke group had been unable to because their sector was already represented within it.
“If you have an accountant who joins as a member, then no other accountants can come to that group, it’s reserved solely for that member, said Mrs White. “Starting the new group in Stone means some of those people will get another bite at the cherry.”
Mrs White said a lot of those joining the group were women starting up a home business to get back into employment now that their children were older.
“We have had a lot of women who have suffered a lack of confidence because they have been out of business for so long and the personal development we offer through BforB can really help with that.”
With several women already signed up to the new group prior to the launch, Mrs White is keen that people register as soon as possible.
“The launch day will be a great insight for people who have not experienced something like this before,” she said. “Hopefully we can demonstrate to them a new way to do business that’s cost-effective and friendly.
There’s a £10 charge to attend the launch, payable on the day, which covers lunch and other refreshments and anyone who wants to attend can register by emailing swhite@m-viron.uk.com or calling 07976733322.
