Lanes on both sides of the A34 will be closed until mid-February, followed by a 16-week contraflow system with part-time traffic lights.
Staffordshire County Council’s highways and transport leader, Mike Maryon, said: “We would ask people to bear with us while work is carried out.
"This will have great long-term benefits for Staffordshire."
The park, on county council land north of Stafford, could create more than 2,500 jobs and is expected to be completed by spring 2014.
