OULTON villagers are set to sow a million poppy seeds to commemorate those lost in the Great War.

The effort is part of work towards Oulton’s entry in the Best Kept Village competition.

“As we mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War this year the committee felt this would be an appropriate gesture to commemorate those lost in the great conflict,” said a BKV committee spokesman.
