A PENKRIDGE nursery is top of the class after completing a hat-trick of outstanding Ofsted reports - the only one in Staffordshire to achieve three consecutive top grades.
Inspectors visited Little Treasures last month and found teaching was excellent and children were confident, motivated learners.
The Boscomoor Lane day nursery, which has 110 children aged from birth to under eight-years-old and 24 staff, is thought to be the only one of its kind in the county to achieve three straight outstanding grades.
The one-day inspection found children made excellent progress, were enthusiastic about learning and staff established “superb” partnerships with parents.
A report published last week said: “Children make excellent progress in all areas of their learning and development.
"This is because they experience a rich variety of interesting and challenging activities and outings.
“Children are enthusiastic about learning because staff engage and motivate them through constant, meaningful interactions due to their expert knowledge of the children’s needs.
“Teaching is exceptional as staff are constantly observing what the children are doing and when it is appropriate to intervene to support and extend their learning opportunities.”
Manager Tracy Stephenson said: “We are delighted that all of our hard work and dedication has been recognised once again.
"It was even more significant this year as Ofsted raised the bar from September last year, making it even more difficult to achieve the outstanding category.
