What do you think about the HS2 team receiving more pay than the Prime Minister?

HS2 boss Sir David Higgins has said he wants to pay a team of up to 30 people more than the prime minister's £140,000 salary.

Coalition government have always said that public servants should not be given more than David Cameron, but Sir David believes it is a necessary step to get the right people now rather than to rectify problems later and will ask permission to break the rule.

The project is currently estimated to cost £42.6bn and the team of between 20 to 30 senior staff are expected to be hired within the next six months.
