American rock band Metallica, who first got together in 1981, were recently announced as the headline act on Saturday night for the Pyramid Stage alongside Arcade Fire and Kasabian at Glastonbury 2014.

It’ll be the first time that the heavy metal band has played at the Somerset festival although they say they’ve been waiting for years.

In 2008 when Jay Z was announced as the headline act and there were concerns that he wasn’t suited to the festival, yet he won everyone over on the night.

In October 2013, tickets for the event at Worthy farm sold out in just one hour and 27 minutes with other acts including Dolly Parton, Manic Street Preachers, Lily Allen, Skrillex, Disclosure and Blondie.

Yes much better than the usual fake indie middle class rubbish like Coldplay etc.
