FORMER British truck racing champion Dave Jenkins from Stone was back on the podium after a thrilling weekend of action at Thruxton.
Jenkins, who is sponsored by leading oil blenders Morris Lubricants, returned to top form as he steered his distinctive MAN in Black race truck to three podium finishes, twice finishing second.
The experienced driver also managed fourth and fifth place finishes to bag an impressive 38-point haul. Jenkins remains fifth in the championship standings - but crucially he has clawed back some ground on the drivers ahead of him.
“Our goal for the weekend was to get close to the podium in every race and we managed that so we were more than pleased,” said Jenkins.
"We showed our speed with the truck and that turned into some decent results. The racing was fantastic over the weekend and every point was fiercely contested.
“After the shaky start to the season we have found some reliability and consistency as well as the raw speed which has been evident all year.”
Jenkins, 38, now has four weeks to get his truck in top condition before the next round of racing in Nürburgring, Nürburg, Germany.
