SEVEN LOCAL independent businesses will be showcasing their work at pop-up shops at Stafford train station this weekend.
Sellers including teddy bear makers Cottons Crafts will appear alongside youth enterprise teams and an ambulance giving demonstrations to the public at the event, which runs from tomorrow until Sunday.
Non-profit business advice organisation Virgin-StartUp will be offering tips for those that want to set up a company.
Commercial Project Leader Fiona Main said: "We're really excited. This event will be a way of showing what the people of Stafford can do. People travel through Stafford to all parts of the country.
"This will give people a bit of interest and something to do while they're waiting for trains whilst supporting local businesses at the same time."
Teddy makers Cottons Crafts and candle company Always Present will be there on all four days while drum company Jobeky will appear on Saturday.
Jewellery suppliers Elegant Pebbles will attend on Saturday and Monday, while paper crafts business 3 Little Monkeys and Stafford wedding photographer Jane Bailey will appear on Friday and Saturday.
Jane Bailey said: "I'm looking forward to it. I think it's good that Virgin trains are supporting local businesses.
"I work from home at the moment so it will be a great way of raising awareness of my work in the community."
Shops will be open from 8am-6pm on Friday, Saturday and Monday, and 10-4 on Sunday.
Parking will be free for one hour at the train station.
