Pothole plague on rural road in Gnosall

FED-UP residents who have to run a double pothole gauntlet on a road near Gnosall hope their challenge could soon be at an end.

Coton End Lane just off Newport Road, is plagued by potholes on each side of the road, meaning motorists have no choice but to drive into the craters to get through.

Neighbours have reported the problems to Staffordshire County Council, resident Margaret Edwards said, but six months later the lane remains pothole-ridden.

County councillor Mark Winnington, who represents the Gnosall ward, saw the potholes for himself on Saturday. He urged residents with pothole problems to keep reporting them to the county council, even if they had done so before.

"If we don't know about potholes, we can't do anything about them."
