Meaford Energy Limited hosted two public exhibitions at Meaford's Lakeside Tavern and Barlaston Village Hall last week as part of its statutory consultation.

The planning application for the gas turbine power station, which would be built at Meaford Business Park, is due to be submitted to the Secretary of State for Energy later this year. The site was previously home to a coal-fired power station, which was demolished in the 1990s.

Meaford Energy Limited director Daniel Chapman, pictured with Melanie Cartlidge, one of the visitors, said there had been a good response to the plans.
