PENKRIDGE seconds recorded a 79-run home victory against neighbours Milford Hall in the Birmingham and District Division Two.
The home side were put into bat and recorded a good target of 222 from 49 overs with Richard James top scoring on 55.
Milford struggled to reach the target and were bowled out for 143 runs thanks to four wickets from Ian Brown.
CHRIS Vaz was the star of the show for Stafford CC thirds on Saturday.
Stafford opened their Stone league fixture against Newcastle and Hartshill with 224-8 declared, as Vaz hit a classy 92 and Terry Jones 45.
Newcastle fell victim to Stafford’s seam attack in reply and were dismissed for 142, Roger Howe top scoring with 64.
Pick of the bowlers were Neil Cameron 4-45 and Manu Das 3-24.
ECCLESHALL CC seconds chalked up a good win at Fenton on Saturday to maintain a top three spot in the NSSCL division 3B.
The Church Street side bowled first and contained the home batsmen, with the exception of Mahmood who hit an excellent 64. Seamers, Jake Derry and James Cox were the pick with respective figures of 4-6 and 4-26.
Fenton set Eccleshall a target of 125 to win but the visitors lost their first three wickets for just 11 runs, all falling to Bilal Ifticar.
However, James Dale defended well through this mini crisis and Jake Derry supported him well with 20.
Paul Cox (22no) and Dale (65) steaded the Eccleshall ship and they reached the target for the loss of five wickets.
