Stafford Rangers U12s move top after cup setback

STAFFORD Rangers U12s bounced back from their shock midweek Bilston Cup final defeat to return to the top of their respective Lichfield league section.

Having lost out 1-0 to Stourbridge Juniors in the final, Rangers made the perfect start against Heath Hayes and eventually ran out 4-0 winners.

Just 27 seconds had gone when Rangers scored through Gabriel Hughes. Rangers added two more through Danny Stevens and James Black from the penalty spot after Stevens was brought down in the box.

In the second half, Rangers continued to dictate and a loose ball ran kindly for Ryan Taylor to make it 4-0.

Charlie Lee was handed the man of the match award following his new roll up front, and this win now leaves Rangers two points clear of Sutton with two games in hand.

STAFFORD Rangers Juniors U10s were fired up for their latest Mid Staffs Junior League clash against Stafford Rovers.

Within minutes Logan Masters produced an excellent drive that struck a post for Rangers.

Rovers hit back but Callum Perkins made a fantastic tackle and moved the ball back down field. Jayden Crossley picked up the ball and moved in for a superb shot which also hit a post.

It was not long before Rangers opened the scoring. Masters crossed the ball to Dylan Walton who scored a fantastic goal.

Rovers fought back and had a shot at goal but Taylor O'Brien made a superb save to retain the Boro lead.

In the second half Mack Lewis made it 2-0 to Rangers with a rebound and shot from just outside the box.

Connor Milgate worked hard in midfield for Rangers with some great tackles as did substitute Jake Fretwell in defence.

Both teams played their part in a fine match and man of the match for Rangers was Callum Perkins.
