STAFFORD Rangers were dumped out of the FA Cup at Gresley FC on Saturday as they let slip a two-goal interval advantage.
Rangers had looked well placed after goals from Danny Quinn and Michael Carr had given them a 2-0 lead in this second qualifying round tie.
But Gresley, of the Evo Stik divison one (South), a league lower than the Boro, struck back in the second period with goals from Jordi Gough, a Marc Goodfellow penalty and a late strike from Richard Hanslow to cause an upset.
After such a good recent run, which had seen them go eight league and cup games unbeaten, this result will be a great disappointment to Rangers boss Greg Clowes and the supporters.
Rangers will now have to pick up the pieces on Saturday, September 29 when they visit Rugby in the FA Trophy first qualifying round.
