STAFFORD Rangers came from behind to sink promotion hopefuls Worksop Town with a three goal blast in ten first half minutes.

Rangers, who had not scored in their previous two matches, found themselves trailing after only 12 minutes.

Home keeper Danny Read punched away a Lee Beeson corner but straight to Matt Young who beat the former with a stunning volley.

Rangers dug in and responded well, with Fabrice Kasiama firing over, before Oliver Davies drilled wide of the far post.

The home side deservedly drew level on 29 minutes when Karl Ashton glanced home a Kasiama corner.

Three minutes later, Michael Carr delivered a free kick from the left and defender Liam Walshe found the net with another headed goal.

Rangers increased the lead after 39 minutes when the ball fell kindly for Kasiama, who held off two Worksop defenders to fire past experienced Worksop keeper Paul Bastock.

The home side could well have won by a bigger margin, but Jimmy Turner, Peter Heler and Ashton all wasted good opportunites, while Worksop were well contained by the home defence.

Next up for Rangers is a home Doodson Sport Cup third round tie against Nantwich Town on Tuesday (7.45pm).
