STAFFORD, Stone and Rugeley folk are being urged to nominate their fire service champions of 2014 as part of the MORE Awards.
Voting closes on March 31 for the annual awards, which aim to recognise a member of staff or a team for their outstanding contribution and commitment to Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
There are nine categories in total but the winner of the Fire Service Champion accolade will be decided by members of the community.
The person who scoops the coveted title will have demonstrated a real community spirit or will have gone beyond the call of duty to support people to overcome difficult situations.
Chief fire officer/chief cxecutive Peter Dartford said: “This is a really important category in the MORE Awards as the communities of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent can nominate who they think has gone the extra mile and really made a difference to their lives.
“It would be wonderful to hear some really inspiring stories from the people that we serve so I would encourage residents to submit their nominations as soon as possible to make sure they don’t miss out on the chance to vote.”
Members of the public can make nominations through the service’s website at www.staffordshirefire.gov.uk, by collecting a form from their local fire station or by calling 01785 898979 to request a form.
